Built on Journalism.
Driven by Community.
More Than a Media Company
Ulibo Legacy Media was founded in 2018 by Menzi Ngcobo — a journalist, broadcaster, and educator who has spent his career using media to inform, educate, and inspire. It began with a simple vision: to empower communities through storytelling, media, education, and the arts.
For years that vision lived most visibly through the Ulibo Poetry & Honours Awards, which Menzi co-founded to recognise poets, artists, and community leaders across KwaZulu-Natal. What started as one night of recognition became a platform people come back to year after year.
Today, the same in-house capability that built the Awards is open to everyone — through event coverage, photography, and profile work. But the heart of Ulibo hasn't changed: telling real stories, and making room for the next generation to be seen and heard.
